Once you’ve purchased the perfect set for you, the last thing you want is animals and insects ruining your outdoor furniture. There are a couple of solutions to keep these pesky animals and insects off your patio furniture.
The mistakes are gone
The flies that buzz around your head can distract you by interrupting your relaxation time on your patio and the mosquitoes that bite your skin. An effective way to keep these pesky critters out is to purchase a zippered screen to place around your patio. You can buy them at almost every store that sells backyard furniture and supplies. These nets come in different colors, shapes, and sizes to suit your tastes and needs.
Some nets are attached with ties, while others are zipped up. These nets allow you and your company to delight in your outdoor furniture and beautiful weather without the hassle of stray animals and pesky insects. If you prefer a net that covers your entire garden rather than just a small section, they are also available. If a net is a bit expensive for you, you can simply spray yourself and furniture with bug spray, but remember that bug sprays can harm animals.
Keep cats away
These pesky animals are especially bad at making a comfortable bed out of furniture cushions. The cat hair that remains can be dirty and smelly. This does not help keep patio furniture clean and looking its best. Pet stores generally carry humane sprays that will safely keep cats away so they don’t get hurt in any way. Cats cannot stand the smell of these sprays and will be sure to walk away once they get close enough to smell it.
If you don’t want to use sprays, you may want to try a helpful home remedy. Cats hate aluminum foil, so just put some on their cushions to keep them away. On windier days, you may want to load the foil with a heavy item that won’t leak.
Another way to keep these pesky animals away is to buy a dog. Everyone knows that most cats and dogs are natural enemies and cats prefer to stay completely away from dogs. Although by having a dog, you run the risk of having dog hair on your furniture instead of cat hair.
If a dog is not an option, carrying your furniture at night is a definite way to ensure that cats stay away from the furniture. While this is an effective way to keep pesky animals away, it’s a lot of work and a bit of pain, so a patio cover may be a better option.
