Fact: There are 253 million cars and trucks on the roads of the US If at any one time about a quarter of those cars are on the road, that means 63,250,000 are on the road, divided by 50 states, that is , 126,500 cars on the road at any given time in every state. Obviously these numbers differ and places like New York surely have more cars than the middle of Wyoming, but the point is that no matter where you are, there will be others around you in their vehicles.
There are millions of small and large companies that appear in the US each year. With all this competition, don’t you think it’s time to consider a new advertising method to get your business’s attention? This is where all that random car data comes in – time to consider vehicle advertising!
Think about the exposure billboards get every day. If you find the right location, you can reach thousands of people in a matter of hours! Now imagine if that billboard was moving, driving around town and reaching more people. Is that the type of advertising you would like for your business? If so, you really should consider vehicle advertising, and I’ll cover some of the most popular options to help you make the best decision.
Wraps:
I’m sure you’ve noticed those cars with crazy graphics and their brand written all over it. These are called wraps and are generally large vinyl sheets with printed graphics covering a large part, if not all, of the vehicle to make it a literal moving billboard. This is the most expensive option and requires special knowledge of how to position them so as not to distort the image on the multi-faceted surface of your vehicle. Most people are concerned about removing these, but if done correctly with the right product, they will leave your paint job unscathed and can help preserve it.
Vehicle lettering and graphics:
The first example of this that I always think of is the local landscaper. They most likely have a generic white truck and have vehicle lettering affixed to it so customers know who they are when they show up at your home. Like the wraps, the vehicle lettering is made from a weather resistant vinyl that is affixed to the vehicle. Unlike wraps, these graphics are usually just letters and small logos or images that are cut out of the vinyl so they don’t cover large portions of the vehicle. The prices of the letters depend on the amount of vehicle you cover and the number of colors. Most printers will cost per foot or per line.
Magnets:
If you are thinking that gluing a giant decal to your car is not for you, magnets are probably your best option. They are ideal for real estate agents or others who can use their personal vehicle as a company vehicle. Vehicle magnets come in many different shapes and sizes and are essentially an oversized business card that sits on the side of your car. The benefit of magnets is that they can be easily removed and reused as long as they are properly cared for. I would not recommend putting them on and taking them off daily as this could wear out the magnet quickly. Storage is also very important as you should always keep it flat to fit, most put it on your refrigerator or filing cabinets. You should also make sure to clean the area that the magnet will adhere to before placing it. A dirty car can result in the loss of a magnet if it falls on the road.
Regardless of which option you choose, vehicle advertising is a great way to make your business stand out.
