DisneyWorld. The very name evokes a wonderful feeling. Those who have been there cannot help but remember what a glorious time they spent there. And those who haven’t can’t help but feel they must visit, no matter how old or young they are.
Disney World isn’t just a place, it’s an experience. You need to go there and be a part of it and the many worlds within it. Disney World is a place where you leave your everyday life behind and enter a fairytale world where anything is possible. It is a world of imagination, which becomes reality.
Disney World is more than the animated world of fairy tales with which we are used to associate it. Sure, it’s got the magic and the animation, but there’s also the various parts of the world, with all its wonders brought together, recreating the environment they came from. There is the future and everything that could happen if science had its way. There is wonder, excitement, learning, adventure and fun. If you want the perfect vacation, think Disney World. It will be one of the best decisions you have ever made.
Disney World is made up of four wonder worlds. They are: Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Disney Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom
It has several sections: Frontierland, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Liberty Square, Mickey’s Toontown Fair, and Mainstreet USA.
Don’t miss Splash Mountain in Frontierland. It’s a Brer Rabbit story ride and be prepared to get wet because at the end of it all, you make it to the Briar Patch and go down a steep slide into the water. The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a huge roller coaster and it sits right on a gold mine. It is a great trip for children to have fun like never before!
In Tomorrowland, don’t miss the Space Mountain attraction: it’s scary but it’s fun. Then there is the Buzz Lightyear ride which is also worth taking.
Fantasyland has Winnie the Pooh Honeypot’s wonderful journey through the hundred acre forest and it’s like you’ve suddenly stepped into the book. You can join Mad Tea Party with Dumbo and Cinderella.
Liberty Square’s Haunted Mansion has 999 ghosts, so it might not be for the faint of heart. You could have a ghost, join you for a ride!
Main Street USA has shows at set times in front of Cinderella’s castle; surely you must see one. There is also a huge fireworks display, once the sun goes down and it’s a joy to behold!
Epcot Center
Step into the Epcot Center and it’s like you stepped out of a time machine into the future. Whether it’s the exhibits, the rides, the exhibits, it all explains a very futuristic world. Be sure to go see the show “Honey I Shrunk the Audience” and don’t miss the Body Wars show either. It feels so weird and wonderful to have been shrunk down to a tiny size and the 3-D effects are out of this world. The Spaceship Earth Ride is also phenomenal.
Epcot has another section that consists of world attractions and Oh Canada is one of them. Get in there, watch the show, and truly feel like you’ve just come back after flying all over Canada, seeing the lakes, the cities, and the countryside. You just can’t get more realistic! It also has attractions from many other countries.
Every night at Epcot, there is a fireworks and laser display called IllumiNations in the lagoon. This is an amazing show and definitely not to be missed. Every night, $17,000 is spent to make this happen, and it’s worth it because it leaves you with memories to last a lifetime!
Disney Hollywood Studios
There is a lot to see here too. The Beauty and the Beast live show is great. Make sure to get there early and get good seats for the show. Then, for the stronger ones, there are two attractions that are sure to excite them. They are the Rock & Roller Coaster that makes you shiver and the Twilight Tower of Terror, where you can go up many floors and go down quickly while screaming your heart out!
It also has the Indiana Jones story with all of his Echo Lake stunts and there is Hollywood Boulevard with the Great Movie Ride which takes you through all your favorite movies. There are many more places here in this section to enjoy and see at the Animation Courtyard, Mickey Avenue and Streets of America where you can see the Muppets animated in 3D.
animal Kingdom
Don’t miss the Animal Kingdom. Right in the center is the Tree of Life, which has 325 animals carved into it, and is fourteen stories tall! Then there is a trip back in time when you enter the world of Dinoland USA. There are also sections on Asia and Africa. The Asian section has the Kali River Rapids where it is a wonderful wet ride. The African section has the Kilimanjaro Safari where you really feel like you are on an African safari, it’s so real. Keep an eye out for all the animals as you ride the bumpy vehicle. The Everest Expedition is also amazing – a journey to a wintry land that is white and out of this world!
Disney World has to be seen to be believed. You are never too young for it and you are never too old for it. It is a world that has something for everyone and while you are there, it keeps you spellbound, captivating you with its many attractions. Plus, they all run like clockwork and it’s such a well-handled show that you feel like you’re in an incredibly different world. You only have to experience it once in your life.
