The other day, I was talking to Josh Balaban, an emerging intellectual thinker from California, and as we began our dialogue he asked me a simple question; “Would you like me to start with an expanding question?” He will see, he immediately and rightly realized that in order to start a dialogue, an issue must first be presented, and he also identified the reality that the best way to start such a speech is with a question. Okay, so let’s talk about this, okay?
This is what I said, when I realized what your question about a question meant for our future correspondence; “Ah, one question, yes, isn’t that where it all begins?” Think about that for a second if you want. Everything, or every thought seems to start with a question, for example, there is a stimulus of some kind, which triggers an attempt at recognition, with that recognition a question arises, what is that, what should I do, if I should do something ? Even a thought, the desire to eat, for example, comes from the senses that recognize that you are hungry, your mind has to ask, what is that feeling? Oh, I must be hungry. So, in fact, everything starts with a question, so it makes sense that yes, you should start with a question.
Ok, so what is the question?
Oh think about that; “what is the question” and what should that question be, or how should it be asked, you see, it is very important to have the right question if we want to get to the right answer, because asking the wrong question most of the time, will lead to the wrong answer you see, and acting on the resulting wrong one can have unintended consequences. Now, I answered my answer to the question type with this statement: “Can you put it in a modern context with examples so we can reason and figure something out? It would be my pleasure to think of something interesting.”
Ok, so what should you take away from this as a reader of this article? Well, let this be a lesson to any intellectual thinker or group of thinkers to properly pose a deep inquiry before positing such future discussions. If you are an inventor, a lone innovator, the same is true, you have to ask the questions, the right questions, in the right sequence to make that breakthrough or get to that “Ah Ha” moment where the light bulb goes on. off and you’re standing on the next great innovation of our time. Please consider all this and think about it.
