I’m with All Star Medical and today we want to show you the Golden Technologies Buzzaround XL and the Pride Mobility Go-Go Elite Traveler. Both are their three-wheeled versions. They are probably our most popular scooters that we sell and we just want to have them side by side so you can see the difference. We’re Pride fans and Golden Technologies fans, so we don’t really have a preference by any means, but we like to show you the different features they offer so you guys might not be able to go to the store to see these chairs. you can make a good decision online and, you know, order from All Star Medical.
So what I have here, I’ll start with the Buzzaround XL. As you can see, it has a round handle. It flips both sides, which makes it very easy to turn one way or the other. Compared to the handle here with the Elite Traveler, it is just a bar so it can rotate in any direction. Again, just to compare the difference too, the speed trigger is here. And then here is the speed trigger and reverse gear. You can see the dials and everything is very, very similar. It has a key, horn, and speed dial, along with a battery life indicator. Their baskets are practically identical. I’d say the Buzzaround XL has a slightly larger basket. Also, it has a handle if you find it useful. They are removable. You have the ability to charge right here on the Buzzaround and the same goes for the Elite Traveler. You can upload right there. They both have charging points at the top which are very useful if you can’t bend over to reach the charger below. That’s probably one of the features the Elite Traveler doesn’t have. I don’t really see that as a big problem. Every now and then, maybe at night, the light comes in handy. But other than that, there isn’t much. Their drum cases, as you will see, are very similar. I’m going to take them off. One cool feature that these two companies do is that they give you the ability to charge this inside the house without having to carry the battery and the entire chair inside.
So if you’re on vacation or somewhere and you’re short on space, you just need your charger plus the battery box and you can leave the mobility scooter in your vehicle without having to, you know, bring it all in if it was necessary. So there is a cool little feature there. Both have a top speed of four miles per hour. The turning radius on the Elite is 33 inches, where the Buzzaround XL is 37. So a difference of about four inches. Total weight is 76 pounds on the Go-Go Elite, compared to 100. The heaviest piece on the Elite is 29.5 pounds, which is actually the frame I’ll show you when I break down. And in the Buzzaround it weighs 35 pounds, so you get the idea, they are within six pounds.
You will notice that as I sit in this chair, my feet on the Buzzaround XL, I have a little more foot room on the Buzzaround XL compared to the Elite Traveler. Now that can be good or bad. You know, it just depends on if you are trying to get a slightly tighter scooter. Confined spaces, maybe the Elite Traveler is your choice. If you need a little more room for your feet, maybe the Buzzaround XL is your choice. I think the overall length of both is 37 inches on this one on the Elite Traveler and 42 on the Buzzaround XL.
Ground clearance is two inches on the Buzzaround … Sorry, on the Elite Traveler. And the Buzzaround XL measures three inches. So a difference of one inch. The wheels are very similar in size. The next thing I want to show you is how they break down. The great thing about these two scooters is that they are very portable. You could break them down and put them in the back seat of a car, in the trunk of the car. And, again, the heaviest piece weighs 29.5 or 35 pounds. So it’s no big deal to lift that if you can handle that kind of weight. Easy to transport
So, I will show you the Buzzaround XL. I already removed the battery. You see, it just shuts off. You have a mango right here. Turn off, just that handle there. You have this rudder that you can adjust if you want it closer or further away, but the good thing is that I can close it, tighten it, remove the battery, and both the Elite and the Buzzaround have a little mechanism that blocks this. So this is your heaviest piece at 35 pounds. Then you have your engine and everything you can collect. Once again, there are your parts for the Buzzaround XL.
The same goes for your Elite Traveler. You have a mango here. You can lift this. You can also use the same type of rudder system. Squeeze this, twist this device here, and then I pick it up. And the basket also comes off. As you can see, they break down easily. The next part of the video that we will show you is how the terrain is traversed. Just to give you an idea so you can see them in action. That’s the most important thing I’ve seen from people asking on our YouTube videos: I want to see them on a different ground. And that’s what we’re going to do next, we’ll show it to you on a rug, hardwood, and even take it outside. It’s like showing them how they drive.
