Let me start by saying that what I am going to teach you can seriously hurt someone and should only be used for self defense. Have you ever wanted to learn how to fight like a mixed martial artist to protect yourself, your friends or your family?
That is how:
Mixed martial artists train in several different disciplines so they can handle any situation in any fight; this includes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for chokes and limb locks, Muay Thai for kicks, knees and elbows, boxing for raw speed and punching power, wrestling to control and dominate the opponent, and Judo for throws.
When it comes to street fighting, by far the most useful of all those disciplines is boxing, since most of the others involve landing on the ground (something you don’t want to do on the street) or giving up stability, so that’s what we’ll focus on. Boxing is about using your hands to knock out an opponent or make him unable to attack you any further.
First step
Go to a mirror and make a fist, this means first making the other four fingers and then wrapping the thumb around them. Then, place your left foot forward if you’re right-handed and your right leg back slightly. Now place your right fist on your right cheek and your left hand just below your chin. This is your “guard” and will prepare you to launch offense and defense as needed.
Next step
You will learn to throw a knockout punch; there are four different types of punches: a jab (left hand punch used to stun and measure distance), a straight/cross right (used to smash and knock out), left and right hooks (used to knock out), and left and right hooks (harder to land, but more likely to knock out).
So, since you have your “guard”, the easiest punch you can land and knock someone out is a left or right hook. Take your left arm and twist it into a “come here motion”, keep your fist vertical, and instead of letting it drop when you’re done, return it to your guard. Do the same with your right hand, making sure to never let your “guard” down. Practice being able to throw as many hooks as you can, as hard and as fast as you can.
And here’s a secret:
If you land these on your opponent’s chin (called “the button” in MMA and boxing), it will knock them out. If your opponent punches back, raise your “guard” to block and drop your chin. Once he’s done, he punches as hard as you can, making sure to breathe in and out with each punch.
