The Buck Bantam Pocket Knife is an affordable yet rugged companion that is meant to last a lifetime. Unlike some knife companies that only guarantee their knives for 1-5 years, Buck trusts his tools enough to give them a “forever guarantee”.
I was looking for a good folding knife when I came across Buck’s Bantam and decided to buy one.
Knife specifications.
Blade Length: 3/34″
Blade material: 420HC stainless steel with satin finish
Handle Material: Thermoplastic, textured
Closed Length: 5 1/8″ (13 cm)
Weight: 3.2 oz. (91.1g)
What I like about the knife:
1. At 3.75 inches, the drop point style blade is perfectly sized for everyday carry. The Bantam gives you plenty of size for utility work, but shouldn’t get you in trouble with the law.
My knife came out of the box and still has a very good edge. The good thing about 420 stainless steel is that it will be resistant to rust, but will still stay sharp after repeated use.
2. The thermoplastic material of the handle gives it a very good grip and will not be affected by rain or mud. Thumb grooves directly before the spine of the blade give you a good place to apply pressure when making precise cuts.
3. The stainless steel pocket clip is replaceable if it ever breaks. This type of repair is covered by Buck’s warranty.
4. Every Buck Bantam uses a locking mechanism, which is considered one of the strongest lock styles in the knife industry. You won’t have to worry about the knife closing on your fingers.
5. At a suggested retail value of $26.00, this is one of the toughest knives available for such a low price. In fact, you can also find lower prices on the web.
That I did not like:
The knife is built like a tank, but I wish they offered it with partial or full teeth. Other than that, the Buck Bantam is a steal for the money.
In general:
If you’re looking for a super-tough, affordable pocket knife, buy a Buck Bantam. You will not be disappointed!
