Renting an RV or tiny house is recommended as a healthy exercise in getting acquainted with reality. Even window shopping or researching online would be a great idea for this, however going to a dealer is best to determine the size and floor plan of the RV you would see yourself living in.
Interesting to say, after going in and out of many sizes and models to take a look at the interior layouts, we concluded that the smaller ones had the best layouts.
After looking at the new ones, we started looking at the used RVs and found that the older models had friendlier designs than the newer models. Strange right? RV designers come up with different styles of RV floor plans keeping in mind sleeping arrangements, bathrooms, and additional outdoor kitchen facilities for outdoor enjoyment as well.
For example, the largest models, from 32 to 40 feet. long, brings a more comfortable design. However, most of the rooms were cramped and very uncomfortable, while the dining room was large. Why not make the cabin 18 inches smaller and give that space to the bedroom? Plus, maybe a used one could be remodeled to your specifications and still save on expenses. Remodeling one to your “needs and wants” is an attractive option indeed. Fifth wheel vehicles, trailers and motorized models can also be explored.
On the other hand, parking should be considered. On your way to mortgage freedom, lower expenses and financial flexibility, wouldn’t it be ideal to park it in a tourist area with a view? RV parks are available across the country and come with many included amenities and services that will also ease your monthly expenses compared to living in a larger home. Basic services included are access to water, sewer, energy and Wi-Fi for weekend or monthly charges. Other services that could be included, depending on the site, are picnic areas, swimming pools, parking, dumpsters, showers, restrooms, allowing pets, laundry, and security. Each RV resort must be individually verified for rates.
